I have a pic mail pic of a man that i had been texting with for a couple of months - discreetly. Met him through a website. I had not heard from him for 2 weeks - he had sent his phone off for repair - told me he would text me when he got it returned. i sent a simple hello text and got a message from one of his college age kids that they didn't know who this is - but that their father had been killed the week before. i am very sad about this, and i just want some closure. Unfortunately, we never exchanged last names, only first. He told me once that i was his pleasure. He was a good man and did not deserve to die doing a good deed for someone - a stranger. i know this is an odd request, but i just feel like i need to know without bothering his family again. i did let his kid know that i was very sorry to hear about his passing. But it hurt, even though i was only a "text" buddy.
