Investigate a home security monitoring center in PA

I had a home security company install a security system, claims it's monitored 24/7 by staff. I hit panic button once, did not receive any phone call. When I moved, in the middle of the contract they came out and disassembled it and put it in a box. It was agreed I would call when I got settled into my new place and they would provide monitoring services there by them or a contracted service provider. Then I called them and they started claiming in writing and on the phone they were still monitoring my system and threatened to turn it off if I didn't pay. It was sitting in a box! Read that others have had the same problem! They got a default judgement against me without my knowledge. Had I lived in any other state than Texas they could have gotten a lien on my home and taken it from me! I believe that there is no monitoring and probably no monitoring center.
